SCMA Leadership Distinction Award

Be active. Be recognized!


Purpose
The South Carolina Medical Association would like to recognize physician members for their involvement and achievements in organized medicine and advocacy. Involvement and participation in these activities will also create a natural pipeline for professional advancement.

Eligibility
Any current SCMA member is eligible.

How to Participate
Complete 10 (or more) of the following activities:

  • Attend SCMA Annual Meeting 
  • Attend SCMA HOD/Town Hall
  • Attend an SCMA Sponsored Event (i.e. Resolution Writing Workshop, Leadership Symposium, etc.) 
  • Attend a County Medical Society Event/Meeting
  • Attend a Section (MSS, RFS, YPS) Sponsored Event 
  • Hold Leadership Role in County Medical Society or SCMA 
  • Participate in SCMA Doctor of the Day 
  • Join SCMedPAC
  • Author a Resolution
  • Recruit a New Member
  • Organize or participate in an SCMA or County Medical Society Community Service Project
  • Participate in the SCMA Poster Competition 
  • Testify at the SC State House 
  • Contact your Legislator regarding an SCMA Issue 
  • Attend any American Medical Association/American Osteopathic Association National Conference 

Complete Award Application

Once you have completed at least 10 activities, complete the online form indicating the specific activity and date completed. It may require more than one year of membership to complete all 10 activities.

Leadership Distinction Award Application

You will be asked to sign your name to an attestation form stating that you have completed the activities as indicated. Any and all documented information may be audited by SCMA staff prior to award presentation.

Deadline: Applications are due annually on April 1. Awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting.
